A quick and inexpensive way to determine the protection level of your coolant and/or antifreeze. Clearly indicates how well the fluid is protected against freezing. Also prevents engine overheating due to insufficient temperature resistance of the coolant. Can be used in both warm and cold weather. Only remove the radiator cap when the engine has cooled down. Then run the engine until operating temperature is reached. Pump the fluid up to the fluid line. Tap out any air bubbles and hold the tester upright. Read the level of protection using the clear arrow indicator.
